Do I Have A Sexually Transmitted Disease?

At least half of the population of north America will have an STD during their lives. Sexually transmitted diseases are caused by viruses and bacteria. The people who get these sexually transmitted disease are usually ones who do not practice safe sex or have multiple partners and intercourse without a condom. The most important thing to do to avoid getting and std is to wear a condom. It is also important to be frank with the people that you are dating, and get medical checkups routinely. Sexually transmitted diseases are usually Gonorrhea, Syphilis, Chlamydia, Scabies, Genital Warts and Herpes. The most dangerous of all is Aids.

If you suspect you have Syphilis this is usually exhibited in a usually painless sore that comes and goes. Normally this will be found on the vaginal or genital area. The lesion is usually round and it will look as if some skin is missing. If you have a rash on your body, sometimes on your hands or the bottom of your feet this can be another indicator. Syphilis can be treated with penicillin. If you do not treat syphilis the result can be death.

Two Common STDS are Gonorrhea and Chlamydia. Both of these exhibit signs by a discharge from the penis or vagina. It will be white or clear respectively. Another sign is that there will be a burning sensation during urination. Frequent urination is also another sign that you may have one of these sexually transmitted diseases. They can be easily treated and taken care of with the help of a doctor but if left untreated they can lead to infertility in women.

Genital warts come in different shapes and forms. Some are visible while others are not, the ones that are visible usually look like cysts in your genital area. They may also look like typical warts that you would get in other parts of your body. They can be removed but unfortunately this disease will stay in your body for your life. Sometimes mistake for genital warts are another std called Scabies. These are small looking genital warts, that can be very itchy. If you have scabies you can treat it with the use of creams and also by making sure that you clean your bedding.

The most common form of STD is herpes. It usually looks like a small group of blisters that sting. You can find STD Pictures online if you are not sure if you are suffering from Herpes. They are usually red in color and sometimes may blister and turn white. They can be treated with prescription medicine, although like genital warts once you have this virus in your body it is there to stay.

If you do have an STD it is not the end of the world. You can go on living your life normally, but it is important that you take proper care and treat it. Once you have you have it is important to visit your doctor to get proper treatment.
